Food and Beer Tour of Amsterdam

  • English
  • 2.5 hours

Enjoy the most typical beer and food from Holland with this alternative tour of Amsterdam.

Itinerary

The tour meets in front of the National Monument in Dam Square and with this well-known spot as a starting point, we take a walk through Amsterdam, taking in on the way all the delicious tastes and smells the capital's gastronomy has to offer.

During this walking tour, we will taste two Dutch beers in different establishments. At each tasting we will learn to distinguish the taste and particular qualities of the different drinks, of which the Netherlands has numerous varieties you are sure to love!

Although the Dutch are well known for their beer, no visit to Amsterdam would be complete without trying one of the most characteristic Amsterdam drinks: jenever, or Dutch gin. As we pass alongside some of the city's most famous landmarks such as Ann Frank's house, or the central canals, we will equally try different types of Dutch cuisine.

To fill our bellies, we will try some of the food most associated with the Dutch capital: Soused (pickled) herring and food from one of Amsterdam's legendary holes in the wall. Then, as a finishing touch, we will delight our palate with a cheeseboard of Dutch Cheeses, after which the route finishes; returning to the starting point.
